ORCHID PAINTER II © 2009 OIL ON CANVAS Posted on 10/5/08
Just recently finished working on this canvas. I began working on it a year ago and put it aside for some time as life’s daily details overwhelmed me. There is a family run farm, Old Hook Farm, a few miles from my home. As well as organic vegetables fruits and herbs in season (subjects for my still life often come from here) there are flowers and a wonderful greenhouse. The greenhouse is filled with wonderful plants, succulents, some exotic plants and there are orchids. There is a windowless room behind the store that has a door opening into the light and colors of the greenhouse.
