On saturday I did a watercolor demo for the one year anniversary celebration at Blooming Hearts and Flowers and brought these gorgeous sunflowers with green centers, artbook and Italian blow with peach and eggplant. Holly, the owner of Blooming Hearts had this scarf on display, perfect turquoise and cobalt blue to go with the sunflowers. I recreated the still life for painting class on monday at tasoc.org

Beginning in spring it is a race to photograph, draw and paint flowers, fruit, vegetables, and now raspberries before they spoil. wonder if other artists, families have many discussions about when the edible still life setups are up for grabs...

Each spring I plant a 'fragrant' pot and put it by the kitchen. I plant fragrant herbs and flowers in the pot to add to dinner or salads, and usually have a rose geranium so that I can pick a leaf to smell on walks or errands.
