A close friend closed her health food store after 24 good years. While she is on to new adventures, she will miss the people and friends who came to her shop regularly. When I first planned this painting to surprise her on her last day open, I had in mind the empty shop at night with light coming out. After a conversation with Nina in which she said it would be the people she missed, I started filling the shop with people.

Nina's Health Food Store the Nature of Things at Night
A close friend closed her health food store after 24 good years. While she is on to new adventures, she will miss the people and friends who came to her shop regularly. Amaryllis bloom
I love the amaryllis bulbs inside just as they are budding. It is some compensation for not being able to garden in winter.

Hudson River Fall 2011
Crazy weather continues. frost some evenings then 65 degrees and sunny. I like to paint this place on the Hudson River. There are no signs of development, just water, hills and sky. This was from three weeks ago, the leaves are mostly down now.
