Matisse at the Met

Evergreen Hills © Maud Guilfoyle
I went to see the Matisse In Search of True Painting at the Metropolitan Museum of Art today. Beautiful exhibit filled with shimmering color! I especially liked  Nasturtiums with the Painting "Dance" I 1912. I didn't realize how often Matisse would paint doubles, two paintings of same subject. It is a bit like 'the road not taken' except the artist gets to explore both roads.
